We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic cardiology team at the Methodist Hospital Specialty Clinic. This is a great opportunity for nurses who are passionate about patient-centered cardiovascular care and interested in developing their skills in the cardiology specialty. Whether you bring prior experience in cardiology or are looking to expand your clinical knowledge in this field, we welcome your application.
In this role, you will help triage and assess patient needs, coordinate care, and support patients and families as they manage complex cardiovascular conditions. You will work closely with experienced cardiologists and healthcare professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.
• Evaluate incoming patient phone calls to determine the urgency of cardiac-related symptoms and appropriate next steps.
• Provide telephone triage for symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, edema, or blood pressure concerns, and guide patients to the appropriate level of care or follow-up.
• Assist in coordinating urgent and emergent care for patients with acute or worsening cardiovascular conditions (e.g., chest pain, heart failure exacerbation, arrhythmias, syncope).
• Communicate efficiently with cardiologists and clinical team members to ensure timely and effective care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on cardiovascular conditions, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Offer ongoing support and resources tailored to each patient’s needs, including symptom monitoring and when to seek urgent care.
• Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans using the electronic health record (EHR).
• Track patient outcomes and coordinate follow-up care, diagnostic testing, and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
