The Executive Director (ED) of Market Finance Operations reports to the UnityPoint Health – Des Moines CFO and serves as an advisor to the Senior Leadership of the UnityPoint Health – Des Moines senior team. This position includes responsibility for all entities within Central Iowa Health System (CIHS / UPH-DM). The ED of Market Finance Operations will be responsible for the market budget, financial planning / forecasting, productivity, and overall financial management. At the market level, they will plan, develop, and implement business and financial strategies, analyze operating results, and explore new business opportunities that support strategic planning processes. They will ensure financial strategies and processes align and effectively support the achievement of the organization’s objectives. They will develop and execute financial strategies, systems, and processes that optimize current and future financial operational performance. They will work in collaboration with senior leadership at the Affiliate, Market and System to identify and execute financial performance improvement initiatives, including revenue optimization, expense control methods, and capital management, contributing to optimal performance and strategic positioning efforts.

Oversees, directs, and organizes the work of the market finance team.
Ability to direct the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on broad corporate goals and growth objectives.
Supports the development of the regional annual operating and capital budgets as well as monitoring progress toward specifically established objectives.
Coordinate the financial analysis and reporting of all business plans by working with representatives across the market.
Ensures the integration of financial planning tools among management teams for strategic, financial, operations, quality management, and other management decision making processes and applications by facilitating the information exchange.
Serves as a market consultant on specific finance-related issues or day-to-day operations issues and provides notification to regional senior leadership of material issues impacting financial performance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business required. Masters degree (MHSA, MBA, MHA) preferred
Experience: Five years of progressive financial leadership experience in highly matrixed health system.
