Join the Muscatine Ambulatory team and play a key role in delivering high-quality surgical care across our region.

Utilizing the nursing process, you will coordinate and implement care for surgical patients while working closely with the Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role involves performing complex, meaningful work while representing nursing and surgical services for UnityPoint Health and Trinity Muscatine across multiple regional campuses.

You’ll help advance the health of the communities we serve and will have opportunities to travel to other UnityPoint Health facilities, expanding your experience and impact.

• Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
• Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

Requirements: 

• Diploma from an RN program.
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state. Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities.
