Responsibilities

Supervises, produces and perfoms diagnostic interpretation of all the cytological material for cytopathology examinations. Provides consultation to resolve technical problems.

 

  • Registers, accessions, labels, handles, prioritizes, performs, judges, and reports routine and esoteric testing on specimens in accordance with standards, and policies of available information systems. 

Qualifications

ASCP certification as a registered Cytotechnologist.

Experience in clinical laboratory disciplines sufficient to allow certification under one of the Cytotechnologist (CT) Certifying Agencies’ examination routes.
