  • Assist providers with in-office procedures such as Pap smears, colposcopy, IUD insertion/removal, endometrial biopsies, NSTs, and obstetric ultrasounds (if trained).

  • Perform telephone triage using evidence-based protocols; assess patient concerns and determine appropriate care actions.

  • Coordinate care for OB patients, including follow-up communication, test results, care plan updates, and prenatal education.

Care Coordination & Workflow

  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies following infection-control and safety standards.

  • Administer medications and injections as ordered, including vaccinations and hormone therapy.

  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) according to clinic and regulatory requirements.

Patient Education & Advocacy

  • Provide education on pregnancy, postpartum care, contraception, menstrual health, menopause, and other reproductive health topics.

  • Promote patient understanding of diagnoses, procedures, medications, and follow-up plans.

  • Support diverse patient populations with respect, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed care practices.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

  • Comply with all state nursing laws, professional standards, HIPAA requirements, OSHA regulations, and clinic policies.

  • Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.

  • Maintain up-to-date clinical competencies and continuing education in OB/GYN nursing.
