Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, obtain medical histories, and evaluate patient readiness for procedures.
Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients and families, including wound care, medication instructions, activity restrictions, and follow-up requirements.
Assist surgeons and providers during in-office procedures, ensuring safe sterile and aseptic techniques.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments according to provider orders and clinic protocols.
Monitor and respond to patient symptoms, concerns, and triage calls using evidence-based nursing judgment.
Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and post-op evaluations.
Collaborate with surgeons, APPs, CMAs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Coordinate diagnostic testing, pre-operative clearances, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
Support patient safety initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, etc.).
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa (required).
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN or BSN; BSN preferred).
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or ability to obtain.
Previous nursing experience in a specialty clinic, perioperative setting, ambulatory surgery, procedural area, or acute care strongly preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
