Overview

Join Our Team as a Payment Auditor! Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated by ensuring accuracy in financial processes? We’re looking for a talented Payment Auditor to help us strengthen our revenue integrity and ensure we’re paid correctly for the care we provide.

 

In this role, you’ll dive into insurance claims to identify incorrect payments and uncover opportunities for recovery. You’ll build and maintain payor contracts within our Decision Support System, collaborate directly with payors to resolve and collect underpayments, and create performance reports that highlight trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities across contracts and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and Resolving Incorrectly Paid Claims
  • Review accounts to identify payments that do not align with contracted payor terms.

  • Monitor Epic workqueues to flag discrepancies and ensure timely follow-up.

  • Analyze regular reports to detect potential underpayments and trends.

  • Document all identified underpayments thoroughly within Epic.

  • Collaborate with payor contracting teams and payors directly to recover underpaid amounts, tracking and communicating results to management.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for reimbursement questions and payment terms across patient populations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Requires 3 years health care experience, or comparable education and experience.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and terminology required.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in use of report writing software.
  • Able to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data.
