Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging equipment during cardiac catheterization, angiography, and other interventional procedures.

  • Position and prepare patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while maintaining sterile field protocols.

  • Monitor and document patient vital signs, contrast usage, and radiation exposure levels throughout procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other members of the Cath Lab team to ensure accurate imaging and seamless workflow.

  • Assist in equipment setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance checks.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Certification/License: 

  • Active, Permit to Practice from the Iowa Dept. of Public Health, Bureau of Radiological Health
  • Current Radiologic Technologist certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
  • Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within one (1) year from date of hire
