The Radiologic Technologist plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality urgent care services by performing diagnostic imaging procedures in a fast-paced, ambulatory care environment. This position assists providers and clinical staff in delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring all imaging and radiologic procedures meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Perform diagnostic x-ray exams as ordered by providers using proper exposure techniques (MA, KV, time, and distance).
Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and families to ensure comfort and understanding.
Apply radiation protection practices in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.
Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination.
Conduct regular quality control checks on radiologic and darkroom equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
Complete and maintain appropriate imaging records and referral logs.
Ensure all x-ray films and images are stored, tracked, and reviewed in a timely manner.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed (e.g., health department).
Verify annual inspections by a certified Radiation Physicist are completed successfully.
Participate in team meetings, read communications, and stay informed on clinic updates.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
Demonstrate initiative in improving quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology.
Successfully pass ARRT certification within twelve (12) months of employment.
Current Iowa permit to practice radiologic technology.
BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Solid understanding of radiologic procedures, patient safety, and clinical protocols.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and imaging systems.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
Prior clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred
