The Vascular Radiologic Technologist Specialist in conjunction with other team members provides direct specialized care to patients in the Invasive Vascular Lab and Cardiac Cath Lab. This position operates and maintains specialized interventional vascular catheterization equipment for use in diagnosing and treating vascular circulatory disease in the Invasive Vascular Lab in Cardiovascular Services . This position assists vascular surgeons and cardiologists in procedures by scrubbing, monitoring, and circulation duties. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families.

• Provides direct patient care.
• Performs various duties related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including scrubbing, monitoring and circulation duties. (
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Takes emergency call as scheduled.
• Communicates effectively with other team members including physicians, nurses, cardiovascular technicians, clinical partners, and unit secretaries. Also communicates effectively with patients and families.
• Demonstrates self development by keeping abreast of various trends in invasive vascular and cardiology and is proficient with new techniques.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
• Integrates and demonstrates FOCUS values and Expectations for Personal and Service Excellence to guide professional behaviors, while adhering to the policies and procedures of UPH-DM.

EDUCATION:
• High School graduate
• Graduate of an approved Radiology Technologist program.
EXPERIENCE:
• One year of Radiology “special procedures” or cardiac cath experience.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Current Iowa License to practice.
