The Clinical Informatics Specialist’s primary responsibility is a change agent working with end-users in the design, training and implementation phases of projects, as well as ensuring that appropriate procedures and processes are developed for sustaining the application of new systems and projects. The Specialist problem-solves utilizing analysis of report data to identify trends, identify workflow optimization opportunities, and utilize adaptive design principles. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is also responsible for education and support of end-users of clinical information systems. Other responsibilities include providing telephone and at the elbow support to end users within the enterprise and also to external customers (remote clinics).
