We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Family Medicine team in Norwalk, Iowa. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will support providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all ages. This position requires clinical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent patient service.
Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant clinical information.
Prepare and assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the provider.
Perform routine diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, vision screenings, and specimen collection.
Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Maintain inventory and cleanliness of exam rooms and clinical areas.
Follow established protocols for infection control and patient safety.
Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider.
Coordinate patient referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refills.
Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program (required).
Certification: Must hold and maintain one of the following current certifications:
AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistants
NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing
NHA – National Healthcareer Association
AMT – American Medical Technologists (Registered Medical Assistants)
Experience: Previous clinical experience in a family medicine or outpatient clinic setting is preferred but not required.

Proficient in using electronic medical record systems
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
