Assists in managing the day-to-day operations of Iowa Lutheran Hospital OPS/PACU utilizing quality, cost effective patient care principles.  Provides support and direction to the OPS/PACU team. Supervises, supports and develops unit staff.   As a member of the Surgical Services team assists in providing perioperative nursing care to the surgical/procedural patient in OPS/PACU at Iowa Lutheran Hospital serving pediatrics through geriatrics. Some of the surgical specialties include orthopedics, general, dental, podiatry, gynecology, urology, and ENT in up to seven operating suites.

• Manages daily operations of patient care. Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospital’s budgetary guidelines.
• Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility.
• Remains competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty.

• Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area).
• Supervises, supports, evaluates and guides staff providing appropriate input for job performance.
• Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.

Education: 

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience: 

• One year experience as a registered nurse

License(s)/Certifications: 

• Current Iowa License as a registered nurse
