We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiology Clinic in Des Moines, IA. The RN will work closely with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff to provide high-quality, coordinated care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions. This position plays a critical role in patient education, clinical assessments, and chronic disease management.
Provide direct nursing care, including assessments, vital signs, ECGs, and cardiac monitoring.
Assist providers with in-office procedures such as stress tests, echocardiograms, and pacemaker checks.
Administer medications and injections, including anticoagulants and cardiac-related therapies, as prescribed.
Educate patients on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle changes, and follow-up care.
Triage patient phone calls and messages, assess urgency, and coordinate care as appropriate.
Monitor patients for symptoms of heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular issues.
Document patient interactions and clinical interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
Adhere to clinic protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and team-based care planning
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa (required).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (Cardiology, telemetry, or critical care experience preferred).
Current BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
Familiarity with interpreting ECGs, lab results, and cardiac medications.
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (experience with [insert EMR name if known, e.g., Epic, Cerner, etc.]).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
