Responsibilities

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Family Medicine team in Ankeny, IA. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare providers by delivering high-quality clinical care and ensuring a positive experience for patients of all ages.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider.

  • Room patients, take and record vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.

  • Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.

  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.

  • Perform point-of-care testing and collect lab specimens as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Support care coordination and patient education based on provider orders.

  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and properly prepared between patients.

  • Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.

  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications

For CMA:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  • Current certification as a CMA (AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT).

  • BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

For LPN:

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

  • Current LPN license in the state of Iowa.

  • BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
