Overview

Blank Pediatric Emergency Department patients range from Newborn to 17 yrs. We see and treat patients for a wide variety of medical conditions and emergencies, as well as injuries ranging from simple to traumatic.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership as part of unit management team.
  • Coordinates unit management activities in conjunction with manager/director.
  • Facilitates unit staff development in collaboration with manager/director.
  • Carries out the day-to-day operation plan of the unit under the direction of the manager/director.
  • Serves as a resource to other health team members on the assigned unit.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to facilitate cost effective health care. 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program

Experience:

  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Current Iowa license as a registered nurse.
  • Current BCLS.
  • Successfully complete department PALS certification within one year of hire date.

Other: 

  • Level 4 Heavy Work:  Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
