Responsibilities

The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams to support OB/GYN providers in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients. This role includes direct patient interaction, equipment operation, assisting physicians with procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation. The technologist ensures compliance with clinical protocols and fosters a compassionate patient experience while contributing to efficient clinic operations.

Clinical Excellence & Patient Care

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams using appropriate techniques and equipment.

  • Assist providers by providing accurate images and technical support during procedures.

  • Educate and guide patients through ultrasound procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.

  • Follow sterile technique and support providers during in-office procedures.

  • Schedule and coordinate ultrasound appointments to optimize patient flow.

  • Ensure accurate completion and storage of imaging records and documentation.

  • Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and use of immobilization equipment as needed.

  • Maintain proficiency with all ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot as necessary.

Development & Patient Education 

  • Maintain awareness of clinic updates through meetings, communications, and intranet resources.

  • Comply with safety and risk guidelines (CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.).

  • Protect patient information and uphold confidentiality standards.

  • Collaborate with clinic staff and contribute to a positive team environment.

  • Participate in initiatives to improve service quality and patient satisfaction.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma required.

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program or ARRT registered.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated clinical ultrasound experience, preferably in OB/GYN.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • ARDMS Registered or Registry Eligible (must obtain within a defined timeframe).

  • BLS certification required.

  • Maintain ARRT or ARDMS continuing education requirements.

  • Valid driver's license if driving for work-related purposes.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team setting.

  • Proficient in understanding and applying clinical guidelines.

  • Fluent in English; multicultural sensitivity.

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

  • Independent judgment and strong critical thinking.
