The PACE Occupational Therapy Assistant functions as an integral part of the rehabilitation team and has responsibility for treating patients requiring services associated with occupational therapy. The Occupational Therapy Assistant is expected to communicate with the therapist and the PACE Interdisciplinary team regarding the participant’s treatment and progress and deliver service in collaboration with the policies and procedures governing the delivery of participant care by PACE standards, state licensure and code of ethics standards.

• Utilization of appropriate Occupational Therapy Interventions to produce expected outcomes.
• Utilization of appropriate and timely documentation. Communicates progress and status to participants, PACE IDT members and contracted health professionals as needed.
• Adheres to professional code of ethics and state licensure laws.
• Works within Supervision guidelines of Occupational Therapy Assistant in accordance to state licensure laws.
• Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly by maintaining and practicing department policies and procedures regarding safety and infection control.
• Performs as member of PACE Rehabilitation team through joint interventions, communication, quality assurance programs and meetings.
Education
Graduation from an accredited, Occupational Therapy Assistant program
License(s)/Certification(s)
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Valid Auto insurance.
Licensed by the state of Iowa
Preferred Certification/Registration: Membership in professional associations desirable.
Maintains current CPR status.
Maintains current Mandatory Child/Adult Abuse Reporter status.
