Overview

Shift: 730am-530pm

 

Provides child care services which meet the developmental needs of each child. Consistently communicates with each child’s parents to ensure that quality care is being given and the child/family needs are being met. Works effectively with other team members. The teacher follows hospital, department and Department of Human Services policies and procedures. Successful performance contributes to a positive work environment for UnityPoint employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age/developmentally appropriate programs for assigned group of children. Interact appropriately and positively with children, participating in and encouraging children’s play.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, child oriented, safe environment.

• Evaluate, monitor, and maintain records on children’s participation and development.
• Attend to personal and physical needs of children.

• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications

Education: Required two year degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or other Education related field. Four year degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or other Education related field preferred.

 

Experience: If you have a degree (associates or baccalaureate) outside of the early childhood field, must have three years of experience in an NAEYC Accredited program. Or if three years’ experience is in a non-accredited program, must have 30 contact hours of relevant training during that past three years.

 

License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Child Development Associate certification preferred.
