We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our patient-centered Family Medicine Clinic in West Des Moines, IA. As a vital member of our healthcare team, the CMA will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff to provide high-quality care across the lifespan—from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Greet and room patients, taking and recording vital signs and health history
Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments
Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by the provider
Collect and prepare specimens for lab testing
Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
Perform basic triage and patient education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans
Manage phone calls, messages, and prescription refills under provider guidance
Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and ensure equipment is sanitized and functional
Support front desk staff with scheduling, check-in/check-out, and insurance verification as needed
Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all regulatory and clinic policies
Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program (AAMA, AMT, or equivalent)
Licensure: Must hold active certification/license in the state of Iowa
Experience: Prior experience in a family medicine or primary care setting preferred
Technology: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., EPIC or similar)
Skills: Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills; commitment to excellent patient care
