Are you a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation? UnityPoint Clinic is seeking a skilled Specialty RN to join our PM&R team. In this role, you will provide personalized care to patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional conditions, supporting them through treatment, recovery, and long-term management in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care within the PM&R specialty, including support for patients with chronic pain, mobility impairments, neurological disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Assist with clinical assessments, rehabilitation planning, and implementation of individualized care plans.
Administer medications, injections (e.g., trigger point, joint), and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, mobility aids, adaptive techniques, and strategies to improve function and quality of life.
Support care coordination for patients undergoing physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Monitor patient progress in both acute and outpatient rehabilitation settings and communicate any changes or concerns with the interdisciplinary team.
Collaborate closely with physiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain curate documentation and ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Current and unrestricted RN license in Iowa
Experience in rehabilitation nursing or physical medicine and rehabilitation preferred
Specialty certification in rehabilitation nursing (CRRN) or related fields a plus
Strong clinical skills with experience in managing patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, or functional impairments
Experience in coordinating care for patients undergoing therapy, managing mobility limitations, or supporting chronic condition management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide empathetic, patient-centered care
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced rehabilitation environment
