Shift: M-F 9:30am-4:30pm (32 hours/week)
Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Director of the Palliative Care Department and the palliative care team members. Supports the delivery of the department’s services to UnityPoint Health -Des Moines customers by the successful and timely accomplishment of these duties. Contributes to the overall goals of the Palliative Care Department which ensures high quality patient care. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in secretarial area preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in secretarial role, preferably in a health care setting. Computer skills essential, particularly MS Office and other systems within UnityPoint Health-Des Moines.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to address and deal with persons of varying cultures and socioeconomic levels, possibly in intense situations. Commitment to service excellence principles in every aspect of work environment.
