Patient Care Tech - Powell Chemical Dependency Center- Lutheran
Part-Time Work Schedule Rotation: 2-week cycle
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The PCT is responsible for providing medical and counseling support to Powell CDC patients. The PCT also assists in the provision of patient monitoring, orientation, patient recovery and recreational support. Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, education, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.

Vital Signs & Monitoring: Collects and documents vitals, withdrawal symptoms, mental health indicators, and urine drug screening.
Direct Patient Care: Provides care per treatment plans, facilitates new patient orientation and recreational activities, and ensures documentation in EHR.
Team Communication: Alerts medical staff of concerns, attends daily staffings, and maintains ongoing reports on care levels, UAs, and patient behavior.
Environment & Safety: Maintains a therapeutic, safe, and clean setting, performs area-specific procedures, and rounds regularly to observe patient engagement.
Holistic & Inclusive Care: Applies a comprehensive approach considering emotional, physical, and spiritual needs tailored to patient age and service area.

Must be 18 years old
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Completion of 75-Hour Basic CNA Course or Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
Preferred: Previous experience in healthcare, particularly in behavioral health or substance use disorder services
Valid driver’s license (required when driving for work-related purposes)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current or obtained within 3 months of hire)
Ability to move quickly and frequently between different service areas (Residential Unit, Outpatient Services, Detox Unit)
Light lifting may be required
Fluent in reading, writing, comprehending, and speaking English
Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong customer and patient focus
Use of standard equipment required to perform job duties
Must consistently meet physical and mobility demands of the position
