We're looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst to join our team! This position will play an active role in team member wellbeing activities. As a Senior Benefits Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the vision, strategy, and objectives of Human Resources and the Total Rewards Center of Excellence (COE). The Senior Benefits Analyst will help administer and maintain company benefit programs, provide support to team members and other benefits staff on benefit plan provisions, administer the design, implementation and communication of employee benefits, and research discrepancies and find resolutions to issued escalated by others.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Researches, analyzes, designs and maintains benefits and projects. 
  • Help and evaluate and refine benefit processes and assist in the implementation of new enhanced benefit programs. 
  • Observes trends and issues to identify systemic solutions.    
  • Oversees data collection of team member benefits information from national, regional and local healthcare providers and other related businessesOversees participation in local, regional and national surveys.   
  • Manages implementation of process improvement initiatives and supports benefits projects as assigned. 
  • Assists in the development of self-service tools for benefits and supports the implementation of the ERP. 
  • Support benefits training and education by conducting presentations as needed 
  • Develops special reports to meet management requests; oversees audits for data accuracy; assesses, identifies and report trends.   
  • Conducts audits.   
  • Maintains all benefit enrollment guides, brochures and forms.   
  • Assists in updating benefit policies, plan documents and summary plan descriptions.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources or related field.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in benefits analysis and administration experience.

 

License(s)/Certification(s): 

  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.   
  • Knowledge of benefits compliance (HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA). 
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations. 
  • Knowledge of personnel practices and theories. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision making and problem solving expertise. 
  • Knowledge of general computer system applications and experience with Microsoft Office software applications (i.e. Word, Excel) 
  • Ability to work as a team member creating and maintaining effective working relationship. 
  • Strong customer service skills.  
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
