The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for working within the established guidelines of the Anatomic Pathology Department- mainly within the Cytology area. As a Bachelor degreed professional, the Laboratory Scientist is responsible for carrying out the philosophy and objectives established by the Board of Directors and the Management Team. Foremost among these responsibilities are strictly adhering to detail in the technical performance of laboratory procedures, solving practical and analytical problems, resolving conflict, and implementing constructive change.

Specimen Management
· Receives, reviews, accessions and prepares samples for analysis and cytological exam
· Follows QA guidelines for specimen handling, identification and processing
· Operates, maintains, troubleshoots COBAS analyzer, including training staff on analyzer use, proficiency testing and inspection readiness.
· Maintains and orders supplies/reagents for analyzers and related testing equipment
Departmental Support
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a Chemical, Physical, or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
Experince:
College or post-graduate laboratory experience.
License/Cerifications:
Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work related reasons.
