Shift: Days, Full-time

Location: Remote

 

The Threat Intelligence Analyst, Sr. will use intelligence driven solutions to detect, identify, monitor, and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities to UnityPoint Health (UPH) team members, patients, visitors, and infrastructure. This position will report to the Workplace Safety and Security Program Director and support the Workplace Violence Prevention Program. It will utilize technology and networking to ensure the safety of UPH from threats, both physical and cyber. 

 

This critical role supports safeguarding our team members and organizational assets. This position requires an individual who has a solid understanding of intelligence analysis, threat assessment, and investigative techniques. This position will monitor open-source intelligence, social media, and other assets to identify and analyze threats to the company as well as geopolitical developments relevant to the industry. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for threat intelligence and assessment for UPH and must be able to create solutions, make recommendations, and write processes and policies in this area.

Responsibilities

Threat Intelligence Analytics 

  • Responsible for actively identifying, isolating, and resolving advanced threats against the organization. 
  • Assist in the development of a threat intelligence program and associated standards for UnityPoint Health to ensure a safe and resilient environment for patients, team members and visitors.   
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of new technologies and tools to improve analytical capabilities, streamline project workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. 
  • Partner with analytics, IT, and other internal departments leveraging current resources, data, and analytics tools.   
  • Analyze market threat data and determine a correlation to UPH vulnerabilities.  
  • Conduct research and complete analysis of intelligence data to support services, regulatory/compliance issues and maintain intelligence data to monitor direct or indirect impact to UPH. 
  • Transform complex analyses into clear, concise reports, presentations, and visual productions to be used for multiple levels of leadership to forecast future threats and their potential impact. 
  • Evaluate operational events, trends, and risks to identify root causes and provide forward-looking recommendations for mitigation and improvement. 
  • Triage, process, analyze, and disseminate intelligence alerts, reports, assessments, and briefings. 
  • Continuously monitor open sources, analytic tools, and other resources to identify emerging threats, risks, and unusual activity impacting critical business operations. 
  • Maintain protocols, procedures, and methodologies for protective and threat intelligence gathering analysis, assessment, and dissemination. 
  • Conduct person of interest (POI) investigations to evaluate the credibility and severity of identified threats to UPH team-members. Use findings to provide risk mitigation recommendations and support Market Security and cross-functional partners. 
  • Utilize and leverage advanced analytical tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of threat assessments, security investigations, and intelligence cycles. 
  • Represent as the threat intelligence Subject Matter Expert for the department. 
  • Support the safety and security management process providing guidance on improvements that can be made to the identification, assessment, and mitigation of threats to the environment.

Project Management 

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a proactive, self-motivated approach, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.   
  • Owns the execution and coordination of specific initiatives, identifies inter dependencies of assigned work throughout the organization.  
  • Facilitate meetings with diverse groups, participating and driving decisions around the project prioritization and strategic plan. 
  • Facilitate initiative outcomes and influences solution development by gathering and reviewing stakeholder information and working with appropriate departments to determine if solutions will work and recommend the best option to the stakeholders.     
  • Provide status reports on a regular basis for assigned projects.  
  • Maintains a high level of independence and objectivity.  
  • Perform special assignments and investigations as required.  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the department by assisting operational, financial, IT and data analytics with scoping/completion of assigned projects.

Communication 

  • Transform complex analyses into clear, concise reports, presentations, and visual products that are accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Liaise with intelligence communities, law enforcement, industry partners, peer healthcare institutions, and information sharing communities. 
  • Present as subject matter expert for protective and threat intelligence for UPH. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, business partners, and external experts to reduce or remove vulnerabilities to UPH. 
  • Deliver polished, professional briefings and presentations to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring complex findings and recommendations are communicated with clarity and precision. 

Regulatory 

  • Participate in regulatory site surveys as determined necessary to meet survey objectives and timelines.   
  • Evaluate regulatory compliance and make recommendations for necessary actions. 
  • Research and continue to be familiar with industry standard best practices including technical and non-technical reporting. 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Associates degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or related field or certifications in related fields. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience threat assessment, intelligence, or similarly related fields. 
  • Experience with threat research, threat indicator sharing, vulnerability scanning and other security tools.   
  • Experience producing written documentation and reporting related to threat intelligence. 

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of operating systems security
  • Strong problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated competency in computer applications and Windows software suite. 
  • Excels at analytical, problem solving and critical thinking. 
  • Superior organizational and planning skills. 
  • Write, read, speak, and comprehends English language fluently.
