Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Internal Medicine Clinic team in Iowa. The Clinical Nurse will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by supporting internal medicine providers, coordinating care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting, values teamwork, and is committed to improving the health of adult and geriatric patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and collect vital signs, medical history, and medication lists

  • Perform medication administration, immunizations, and injections as appropriate to licensure

  • Triage patient concerns by phone or in-person and provide clinical advice under provider direction

  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, in-office treatments, and chronic disease management

  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication adherence, and follow-up care

  • Accurately document all patient interactions and procedures in the EMR system

  • Review and manage incoming test results, provider messages, and patient communications

  • Support care coordination, including referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up scheduling

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with clinic protocols

  • Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards

Qualifications

 

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Iowa license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Mandatory Reporter training (child and dependent adult abuse) – current or willing to complete

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed

  • Strong attention to detail and patient confidentiality
