Overview

Imaging Services Supervisor 

Full Time; Variable Schedule; FTE 1.0

Location: Rock Island, IL 

 

The Supervisor of Imaging Services is responsible for effective operation and oversight of radiology services delivered in a market. As a member of a local market’s operations team, the Supervisor of Imaging Services leads the assigned clinical department(s)’s commitment to UPH quality, service, safety, strategy, and fiscal accountability. The Supervisor of Imaging Services works under the guidance of the Manager of  Imaging Services in partnership with local market leadership and develops and leads a team of high-performing team leads and team members. The Supervisor, Imaging Services implements new programs, identifies opportunities for growth, develops enhanced patient centered services, and ensures accreditation qualifications. The Supervisor, Imaging Services is a liaison for the system-wide clinical department amongst all healthcare providers, partners, and students affiliated with the system and works collaboratively with other clinical departments to support UPH initiatives and identify system sustainability and best practices. The Supervisor of Imaging Services promotes a culture of continuous improvement and trust to enhance decision-making at the staff level.

Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Serves as the key business leader for multiple market teams; seen as the subject matter expert and responsible for the development of partnerships and purposeful connections with team members, leaders, other departments, and external partners.
  • Leads team through influence and presence by making purposeful connections, motivating, mentoring, coaching, and providing guidance to the team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services. Facilitates the ongoing learning, well-being, professional satisfaction, and development of staff through training, work assignments, increased responsibility, mentoring, and the performance evaluation process.
  • Provide direction, supervision, and support to team members. Delegates accountability and responsibility appropriately to the leadership team.
  • Ensures effective recruitment, selection, supervision, and retention of direct reports and departments reporting to
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals for assigned team members.
  • Develop and maintain communication to establish regular and consistent communication with team members, leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Share concerns and/or escalate issues to leadership and key stakeholders as appropriate.

Operations

  • Serves as the key leader and role model; balances team and individual responsibilities; performs all duties of a Supervisor.
  • Serves as the administrative leader and liaison with all clinical department physicians, physician partners, and activities; assists with the contract preparation, negotiation, and execution of radiologist agreements and execution of market-specific agreements where applicable; serves as the administrative representative to Medical Staff departments, sections, committees.
  • Employs system thinking in decision-making, directs resolution of complex problems, and provides consultation and advice.
  • Oversees daily operations to ensure delivery of high-quality services and support. Provides ongoing monitoring and oversight to annually assess effectiveness of department and organizational outcomes.
  • Develops, reviews, and ensures departmental policies and procedures and job descriptions are current.

Quality

  • Leads customer service and quality initiatives; evaluates outcomes and data to continuously improve operational processes, procedures & systems; integrates appropriate technology.
  • Establishes efficient, ongoing training and development programs ensuring compliance with regulatory/accreditation, and meeting quality, and safety.
  • Ensures processes align with Governing bodies and National Association accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents, and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
  • Identifies, investigates, and escalates opportunities to improve quality via department key process indicators, event reporting trends, and huddle discussion opportunities.
  • Creates, advises, reviews and/or monitors metrics, data and trends for the organization related to the assigned markets. 

Qualifications

Education: Associates degree in Healthcare related field. 

 

License(s)/Certification(s): Registered license or certification in one of the followin in Medical Imaging modalities;

Current BCLS certifciation or obtained within 30 days of hire

 

Mandatory Reporter Child Abuse in the practicing state within 90 days of hire. 

 

Mandatory Report Adult Abuse in the practicing state within 90 days of hire. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.

 

Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Use of EMS training equipment and supplies to manage variety of EMS scenarios.
