This position leads the provision of care for Critical Care departments and the Trauma Programs at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines. Guided by the UnityPoint Health Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan, the Director is responsible for the overall effective operation of these departments in regard to care delivery, quality and safety outcomes, employee engagement, patient experience, regulatory compliance, fiscal management and maintenance of trauma designations for each of our four hospitals including the Level I Trauma designation at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He/she uses research and outcomes data to support the design, development, and implementation of processes and programs that improve patient care and stimulate departmental and organizational growth. The Director works collaboratively with other service lines, rural providers, and community leaders to maximize care coordination between internal departments, as well as for patients within our community and rural settings.

Education:
| Master’s Degree in Nursing, or BSN with other applicable master’s degree.

Experience:
| Three or more years of progressing leadership positions in the healthcare environment.

| Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse. Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. | Related specialty or professional certification. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
| Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds. Knowledge of basic computer skills. |
