Transport associates are responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients, visitors, equipment, and goods throughout the facility.  Transporters clean equipment and redistribute equipment as needed. Transporters interact with Rover application to maintain accurate patient records.

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients, charts, and required equipment to various treatment and diagnostic areas safely
  • Follows established departmental policies and procedures to accurately verify and transport the patient.
  • Communicates with nurses/departments using Vocera to update status and locations of patients.
  • Interacts with EPIC ROVER to accurately update patient status and location records.
  • Cleans and redistributes wheelchairs and carts throughout hospital as needed. Organizes equipment rooms

Qualifications

  • Must complete on the job training. 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to understand written, verbal, and other sensory stimuli.
  • Must be able to cope effectively with stressful situations and time constraints.
  • Must be able to interpret scientific data in a logical and coherent manner. 
  • Must be able to independently solve problems and follow detailed written and verbal instruction.
  • Must be able to work well with all customers and co-workers. 
  • Must demonstrate a cooperative, courteous, and dependable working performance. 
  • Must possess high integrity and always maintain confidentiality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
  • Previous patient care experience preferred
