Overview

Hours: Monday-Friday, standard business hours 

Location: Preferably Cedar Rapids, Iowa - can be remote, but candidates must reside in the UPH geographical areas of Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin 

 

Under the direction of the Security Access Supervisor, and technical advisory of the Identity & Access Management Engineer, the Identity and Access Management Associate maintains and enhances the enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) application and related solutions and processes. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving service issues related to IAM, while supporting the engineers responsible for the design and development of the organization's IAM program.

 

In guided collaboration with the IAM Engineer, the Associate is responsible for supporting ongoing daily IAM operations, including application management and related processes. The role also includes assisting in the development, deployment, and modification of the IAM core application, addressing technical maintenance needs, and providing general support.

 

The IAM Associate collaborates closely with stakeholders involved in related applications and data systems to ensure the IAM program is robust and effective in meeting customer and business needs. The Associate identifies business requirements and works under the advisement of the IAM Engineers to integrate solutions into IAM workflows and the overall IAM strategy. This position requires hands-on technical support and programming skills.

Responsibilities

Technical/Operational Support

  • Processes daily work that supports organizations IAM solutions, such as new hires, errors, reports
  • Provides IAM technical and customer support
  • In collaboration with the IAM Engineer supports core IAM software system and resolves technical issues, including server and other related backend IT support systems
  • Takes ownership of customer or IT IAM-related issues as they arise; works with multiple parties and/or vendor support to resolve efficiently and successfully
  • Reviews incident tickets for trends in software issues and works to identify root cause for these issues and works with advanced vendor support teams to resolve complex application issues
  • Supports the production of system documentation to record the IAM environment, including documentation of configuration settings, operating and recovery procedures and data structures
  • Provides technical day and evening on-call coverage as schedules - may assume additional on-call responsibilities as directed by the leader
  • Supports processes and tools to ensure systems are highly available
  • Works with all related teams to ensure IAM systems are properly maintained and monitored
  • Follows technical and operational cutover tasks and contributes to solutions for resulting issues
  • Supports other stand alone provisioning systems and processes such as Group Management tools, more technical processes (Varonis SF management), or scripted tools

 

IAM Associate

  • Provides ongoing support and maintenance of IAM system workflows under the advisement and direction of the IAM Engineer
  • Develop and optimize effective, well-defined, and integrated provisioning processes and procedures
  • Enable efficient, seamless, and automated provisioning process surrounding core IT systems, such as Active Directory, electronic mail, and the system EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new analytical/reporting tools to support IT provisioning, compliance, and other system programs and initiatives
  • Seek to continually improve end-user experience and employee IT access experience
  • Gather requirements, document, and assess information for implementing information security policies and standards methods impacted identity and access areas
  • Provide education and training to supporting IAM functional and supporting areas

 

Compliance and Security

  • Understands HIPAA standards, regulatory, and security requirements pertaining to database, server, and/or application management
  • Follows appropriate security processes for supported applications
  • Works frequently with legal, security, compliance, biomed, hospital management/staff and vendors to maintain and assure regulatory compliance is maintained for medical treatment, monitoring and delivery systems
  • Audits, implements, and maintains application configuration and security best practices

 

Project Participation

  • Works on projects or workstreams as assigned, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills
  • Independently works and supports project work
  • Acts as a technical resource and partner for non-technical project team members

Qualifications

  • IT or technical certification or post-secondary degree; or related experience equivalent
  • 4 or more years of IT experience in the fields of IT access management, provisioning, second-level IT support, or identity management
  • Specific experience with IAM software design and/or technical support
  • Experience with LDAP, SQL, database design, modern code languages and scripting tools
  • Understanding of identity governance and administration implications within identity lifecycle management
  • System administration or application support experience
