Overview

Shift: 8a-4:30p

Location: Remote

 

The Payroll Analyst contributes professional knowledge of payroll processes and requirements in order to maintain and analyze payroll information to ensure accurate processing of payroll checks and taxes. Assists in balancing and calculation of W-2 forms and tax reports. Works closely with the AskHR teams to give the employees a good experience.

Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinates and process bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees for 30,000+.
  • Prepare payroll reports, including but not limited to reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and nontaxable wages.
  • Balance tax files to prepare them for ADP quarterly and annually.
  • Administer garnishments and work with vendors and AP to ensure compliance.
  • Provides consultation or expert advice to management with regard to payroll liabilities including federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, garnishments and workers compensation payments.
  • Keep up to date on legislation, regulations and best practices to ensure overall compliance.
  • Work within payroll/ HR and Accounting teams by following policies and procedures and suggest process improvements and policy updated. These recommendations are given particular weight by leadership in the decision-making process regarding matters of significance in meeting the business objectives prior to their approval for implementation.
  • Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management. Researches complex pay related issues: i.e. Clergy taxability, Visas, Garnishments and Taxes.
  • Maintain compliance with Personnel policies and procedures relating to items such as Recordkeeping.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance

Experience:

  • 5 years of payroll related experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • General knowledge of Payroll rules and regulations
  • Skilled in analyzing information, attention to detail, confidential, and thorough
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines policies and procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
