Assists with patient care activities and performs selected perioperative technical procedures under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Works cooperatively with other health care team members. Collaborates with RNs and other health care workers to facilitate the delivery of patient care while maintaining standards for perioperative nursing practice in the clinical setting. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, quality patient/family care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and surgical team. Performs procedures for patients after competency determined and provides technical services and support.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved surgical technology program. Must read, write, speak and comprehend fluent English. Must have basic computer skills with the ability to advance to intermediate computer skills. EXPERIENCE: Prefer reference of stable work history. Prefer knowledge of hospital work setting. Able to function in team setting with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Previous operating room surgical technology experience preferred. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of employment. EOE M/F/V/D
