Responsibilities

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing weight loss clinic. As part of our team, you will assist healthcare providers in delivering comprehensive care to patients seeking to achieve their weight loss and wellness goals. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for helping patients on their journey to better health.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers in conducting patient assessments, including taking vital signs, measuring body composition, and reviewing medical histories.
  • Administer medications as directed.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes.
  • Monitor and track patient progress using electronic medical records (EMR), maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Prepare exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and organized.
  • Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing (POCT), and lab specimen collection as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and following up on patient inquiries.
  • Preauthorize care, procedures and medications with insurance companies.
  • Provide compassionate support and encouragement to patients as they work toward their weight loss goals.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants or apprenticeship program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
