Overview

A community based pharmacy resident will provide clinical services for the retail pharmacies and their surrounding clinics.  This may include, but not limited to MTM, disease state management, vaccine services (on and off site), discharge medication reconciliation and long term care management.  Teaching opportunities and experiences in Allen Hospital are available.

Responsibilities

  • Required rotations include orientation, critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, practice management, and family medicine with longitudinal experiences of anticoagulation clinic, service commitment and project management.
  • Electives may include infectious disease, rural care, emergency medicine, mental health, and hospice/palliative care.
  • Residents will precept pharmacy students and obtain a teaching certificate through the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Special Requirements for Acceptance:

  • PharmD or equivalent experience
  • Eligible for Iowa licensure
  • CV
  • Transcripts
  • 3 references/letters of recommendation
  • Letter of interest submitted through Phorcas with application
  • Must be US citizen.
