Regenerative Medicine Registered Nurse Coordinator

The Regenerative Medicine Registered Nurse Coordinator works in direct collaboration with the physician and other team members. Primary focus will be to coordinate all incoming patient referrals at the request of the physician to include incoming referrals from Regenerative Medicine, converting of incoming referrals into an appointment. Provides and promotes patient education, nursing staff education and involvement, and serves as a liaison between physician and patients, to promote quality and continuity of care focusing on Regenerative Medicine care. Participates in multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives by providing information to support the rational for practice changes.

Responsibilities

  • Working in conjunction with physician and other staff oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of Regenerative Medicine including attendance at Health Fairs.
  • Coordinate all incoming patient referrals at the request of the physician to include incoming referrals from Regenerative Medicine, converting of incoming referrals into an appointment. Provides and promotes patient education, nursing staff education and involvement, and serves as a liaison between physician and patients, to promote quality and continuity of care focusing on Regenerative Medicine care.
  • Obtains medical records from outside facilities; responsible for medical imaging after obtaining preauthorization.
  • Work with physician and leadership to identify and coordinate quality improvement efforts.
  • Based on a thorough understanding of Regenerative Medicine products and services, respond to all request for information to include; comparative institutional report interpretation and use of outcome reports for quality measurements and improvement.
  • Prepare training, as necessary, to assist with quality date collection and interpretation process.
  • Develop and maintain general policies and procedures for program.
  • Organize regular communication of results and initiatives.
  • Develop materials using data analysis to generate presentations to QI committees and administrative teams.
  • Keeps current by reviewing pertinent literature or attending job related educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Answer questions and provide teaching to patients and family members when scheduling to include pricing and procedure review.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing coordination of care for patients including education and patient registry.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.

Preferred: 

  • Previous experience in orthopedic nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • 5 years of nursing experience 
  • Specialty certification
