Functions as a pharmacy technician as defined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners. Assists pharmacists in entering orders, billing, preparing and distributing medications, maintaining accurate medication records, and assessing inventory. Answers telephone calls, assists patients, and maintains patient confidentiality. All duties are performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and may be performed across all UnityPoint Health–Des Moines locations.

Education: Must be high school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English. Must have strong math skills with some basic algebra. Must type accurately and with moderate speed
Experience: Ability to work with computer systems required. 1 or more years of community pharmacy experience preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s): Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist-Intern (if enrolled in a college of pharmacy) with
the Iowa Board of Pharmacy, prior to commencement of employment
• Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other nationally recognized certification provider
