Responsibilities

Join our compassionate care team at UnityPoint Family Medicine! We are seeking a Medical Lab Tech (MLT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our clinic by performing clinical lab duties, basic patient care, and administrative tasks that contribute to high-quality, efficient patient care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, prepare, and process lab specimens, including blood draws.

  • Perform routine diagnostic lab tests and ensure timely, accurate results.

  • Record and report lab findings; maintain lab equipment and cleanliness.

  • Support providers in rooming patients and taking vital signs (after completion of competencies).

  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, CLIA, and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • MLT: Associate degree in Medical Lab Technology or related field, MLT certification (or eligible within 1 year), BLS certification.

  • CMA: Graduate of accredited Medical Assisting program, current CMA certification, BLS certification. Must have certification through AAMA, NHA, NCCT or AMT (RMA)

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a clinic setting.
