Certified Medical Assistant

Part time. 0.4 FTE; scheudle 2-3 days/week, 9:00am-4:30pm M-F

Pain Management Clinic 

Location: Moline IL 

 

 

Certified Medical Assistant supports their provider and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information preparing patient for examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures.  Responsible for tracking system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests and procedures to regularly follow patients monitoring disease status. Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider. Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including appropriate CPT/ICD-10 coding.  Answer questions and provide teaching to patients and family members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional clinical services for patients following established practice standards and clinical protocols.
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs.
  • Assist provider with patient examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures.
  • May perform specimen collection, phlebotomy and specimen analysis.
  • Medication and/or vaccine administration.
  • Care Coordination via medication refills, prior authorizations and referral scheduling.
  • Test result management and tracking as determined by provider.
  • Return patient calls and inquiries via phone or patient portal.

Qualifications

  • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • High school diploma.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • Knowledge of clinical skill techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A positive and team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to assist providers in professional manner.
