Younker 5 is a 22 bed Renal, Transplant, and Urology unit specializing in medical surgical patients. We have the only transplant center in Central Iowa and take pride in caring for this specific patient population. You will have the opportunity to become transplant certified after 12 months of hire if you wish through the American Board of Transplant Certification. Our hard-working team is thoroughly committed to offering a multidisciplinary approach to patient centered care involving achievement on best patient outcomes and safe discharge plans.

Education: | Successful completion of a licensed practical nurse program from an accredited college. | |
Experience: | Experience or clinical time in Post-Acute Care or an Acute Care environment. | |
License(s)/Certification(s): | Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. | |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: | Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office – basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. | |
Other: | Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities. May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle. |
