Student Services Specialist

Full Time; Monday-Friday

The Student Services Specialist is responsible for student support services, admissions/recruitment, alumni relations, and events. This position is a member of the non-Academic team of the College.

 

The Student Services Specialist functions to fulfill the Vision, Mission, and Values of Trinity College in accordance with the rules and regulations of all appropriate external governing/regulatory agencies and under the policies and procedures of the College.

 

The Student Services Specialist is responsible for providing services to students to assist their educational and support needs throughout their program of study. S/he works with all College stakeholders to promote a climate conducive to learning for the student population.

Responsibilities

Events Management

 

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates College events (i.e., orientation, commencement, alumni banquet, scholarship banquet and campus recruiting events).
  • Works collaboratively with Trinity Health Foundation and Trinity College Business Services Director, to award scholarships annually.

 

Student Services Support

  • Maintains welcome center area and operations and participates in welcome center coverage.
  • Leverages federal work study staff to complete daily, weekly, and monthly administrative processes.
  • Provides administrative support to the Student Services unit as assigned.

 

Alumni Relations

  • In conjunction with the Director of Student Services, develops a strategy, tactical and an evaluative plan for current engaged, current unengaged and new potential alumni to cultivate continuing interest in the College that provides mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the Alumni Banquet in collaboration with enterprise partners
  • Contributes to development and dissemination of Alumni materials while maintaining the alumni database.
  • Works collaboratively with Trinity Health Foundation and Trinity College partners to advance our collective objectives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education, Business, counseling, human resources, or related field
  • Two years of current experience in student services or customer service related work; experience managing personnel

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in higher education, counseling, business, human resources, or related field
  • Experience in student services aspects of higher education

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Write, read, comprehend, and speak fluent English
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to conduct or assist with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Competent with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI)
  • Strong written and verbal (presents to small and large groups)
  • Student and customer-focused
