The Clinical Care Attendant supports providers by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role includes patient intake, vital sign collection, performing point-of-care tests, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from arrival to checkout. The attendant acts as a key team member, facilitating communication between patients, providers, and staff while maintaining compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
Greet, register, and room patients; collect vital signs and patient history.
Assist providers with clinical procedures and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
Provide patient education and comfort, review after-visit instructions, and conduct follow-up calls.
Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinic logs per protocol.
Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and staff effectively.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and safety standards.
Participate in clinic meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Iowa certification as EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or CMA.
CPR/BLS certification required.
Clinical experience preferred.
Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with EHR systems preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Commitment to patient-centered care and cultural sensitivity.
