Overview

Location: Remote, applicants preferrably live in the UnityPoint geographical areas of IL, IA, or WI. 

Hours: Monday-Friday days

 

As a member of IT, works collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement application training programs to support the electronic health record (EHR).   Contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in conjunction with learning theory and technical knowledge to create an educational experience for learners that successfully teaches them new information or improves their skill level in the EHR.  Builds, tests, and maintains the training environments, including creating and maintaining all training materials.

Responsibilities

Issue Resolution 

  • Independently supports and resolves complex issues with assigned applications in adherence with service expectations and change management policies. Incorporates nursing knowledge to troubleshoot workflow related issues.
  • Takes ownership of escalated customer issues and works with multiple parties and/or vendor to help resolve issue.

Operational Support & Improvement 

  • Researches and communicates options to support decision-making discussions to determine strategy for implementation of tools and systems based on modern nursing practice.
  • Advocates for and acts as an agent of progressive change within the organization and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Researches solutions to improve service such as processes, standards and/or products.
  • Participates in decision-making or technical solution-oriented discussions
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation. Communicates necessary information to the required teams.
  • Demonstrates adherence to Epic standards and guidelines. Assists with meeting maintenance program requirements and maintains related certifications.
  • Demonstrates ability to complete application build for assigned application(s). Mentors staff with the completion of documented release processes.
  • Attends Epic educational offerings and shares learnings with others to improve knowledge and educate the organizations we serve.

Compliance & Secruity 

  • Understands HIPAA standards, regulatory, and security requirements pertaining to database, server, and/or application management
  • Follows appropriate security processes for supported applications

Project Management 

  • Leads and coordinates projects as assigned, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Develops project plans and tracks progress, escalating as necessary when project issues arise or deadlines are challenged.
  • Assists with communications regarding training and with the preparation and delivery of course materials and resources to meet customer’s training needs.

Training & Education

  • Develops, maintains, and delivers engaging presentations, demonstrations, train-the-trainer and end user classes, and special training courses as needed utilizing various instructional design models, adult training methods and modes of delivery. Incorporates a variety of nursing core competencies to provide a more comprehensive training experience.
  • Collaborates with customers and business partners to gather requirements and feedback to successfully design and deliver effective training materials based on the information gathered. Assesses current and impacted nursing workflows to prepare training materials and change management communication.
  • Establishes a relationship with key customers and provides them with direct support in their role. Key customers include Credentialed Trainers, Regional Informaticists, Physician Champions, and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Implements performance measurement frameworks in relation to end user training and credentialing of trainers.
  • Builds and maintains training environments using Epic best practices in coordination with enhancements, implementations, and upgrades.  Follows established communication methods to disseminate changes.
  • Builds and writes specialized UPH workflow scenarios in the training environment for system optimization initiatives by collaborating with business partners to ensure optimal application functionality.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing
  • 2 years experience in a bedside nursing role
  • 2 years experience with Epic, support and technical experience in either computer science, information technology or medical terminology
