Outpatient Pharmacy Technician
FTE: .8 FTE (32 hours per week, full-time benefits)
Shift: Monday-Friday day shifts
Functions as a pharmacy technician as defined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy.
Assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing sterile and non-sterile medications, maintaining accurate drug product records, and assessing medication inventory.
Answers telephone calls, assists patients, and maintains confidentiality.
All duties are performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Performs assignments and projects directed by the Trinity Pharmacy Manager.
Transports incoming and outgoing parcels, mail, supplies, medications and goods to locations inside and outside of UnityPoint Health.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English.
Experience:
At least one year in a community pharmacy setting preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Registration as a pharmacy technician with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) must be obtained by examination within 12 months of hire.
