Overview

We’re excited to offer UPH Traveler RNs a $20,000 Relocation Bonus for transitioning to a full-time position with us and relocating your primary residence 50+ miles. 2025 Traveler Conversion Campaign:

  • Limited time: for offers accepted in Feb – April 2025
  • $20K relocation bonus for traveler conversion – only applies for those relocating their primary residence 50 miles or more
  • $10K Sign-On Bonus also applicable
  • Includes 2-year UPH employment commitment at .8 FTE or above
  • Relocation managed through Red Oak Relocation
  • If full $20K relocation is not used, the traveler receives the remainder (minus applicable taxes) in a check from Red Oak

Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence/Patient Care

  • Conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the hospital’s commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity
  • Assists nursing with plan of care development and integrates a multidisciplinary approach
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to other department associates and assumes responsibility for follow-up and collaboration
  • Implements Nursing procedures according to departmental standards, hospital protocol and procedures and within scope of practice
  • Continually evaluates outcomes of Nursing care by assessing patient/family responses and updating patient care to reflect changes in needs
  • Successfully completes the hospital and department orientation and the annual hospital and department specific competencies

Qualifications

Education:

 

 

 

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

 

BSN degree

Experience:

 

 

One (1) year of hospital clinical experience.

 

License(s)/Certification(s):

 

 

 

 

Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse.

Dual licensure is required for this position:

1.     Licensure in the state of Illinois

2.     Licensure in a Compact State to enable practice in Iowa and Wisconsin.

 

New hires who are not dual licensed in will have 90 days from date of hire to obtain and submit proof of dual licensure. (Proof of application for dual licensure is acceptable within the 90 day window if licensure processing has not been completed at the state level).

 

Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

 

Unit specific additional functions will be addressed in the competency checklist specific to the assigned unit.

 

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

 

Possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working on a unit with pediatric patients.

 

Possess and maintain current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).

 

Possess and maintain current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

 

Possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 6 months of hire if working on telemetry, ICU, ER units.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

 

 

 

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

Customer/patient focused.

Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
