Nurse Resident - Inpatient Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health - Lutheran

Shift: Full Time Day/Evening Combo

Shift differentials available for qualifying shifts

Full Time Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 paid over 2 years

 

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to adult mental health patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers. Maintains a safe, therapeutic milieu and utilizes therapeutic communication skills that facilitate patient and family recovery from mental health crises.

Responsibilities

All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.  

 

Applications are accepted year round for 4 main cohorts. Your cohort will be dependent on your start date. Start dates are dependent on licensure, onboarding, unit availability as well as your personal preference.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited nursing program. Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Completion of residency program within the first 12 months of employment. Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work. Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. EOE M/F/V/D
