Assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the Operating Room utilizing quality, cost effective patient care principles. Provides support and direction to the Operating Room team. Supervises, supports, and develops unit staff. As a member of the Surgical Services team assists in providing perioperative nursing care to the surgical patient in the operating room. Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area).
Management

Education:
| Bachelor’s degree. Graduate of accredited nursing program. Successful completion of all modules of the Supervisor Orientation Program (New Leader U or equivalent) within the first year of accepting the position. |

Experience:
| One year experience as a registered nurse. OR Experience | Three years of operating room nursing, and/or charge nurse or leadership experience. |
License(s)/Certification(s):
| Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. | CNOR certification |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
| Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office – basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgement in making decisions. | Intermediate computer skills |
