Pharmacist

Full-Time; 2nd Shift; No Weekends

The Pharmacist will provide patient care services and also serve as a resource for drug information to the medical and nursing staff.  Responsible for oversite of Pharmacy Technicians working under the direction of the Pharmacist. 

• Reviews medication orders and patient profiles for drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions and therapeutic duplications.
• Makes recommendations to providers and documents interventions. 
• Participates in monitoring medications for safety and effectiveness. 
• Perform medication verification as required by law. 
• Oversee technician preparation of medication orders including hospital compounded medications. 
• Participates in product selection, procurement and receiving of pharmaceuticals. 

Education:

• B.S. Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

Experience:

• Appropriate pharmacy setting experience preferred, but not required.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Must be licensed or obtain licensure to practice Pharmacy in Iowa and Illinois within six months of employment.  Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Pharmacist license is obtained. *IL State License will be reimbursed by UnityPoint Health*
