The Occupational Therapist Assistant functions as an integral part of the rehabilitation team and has a responsibility for treating patients requiring services associated with occupational therapy. The Occupational Therapist Assistant is expected to communicate with the occupational therapist regarding the patient’s treatment and progress and deliver service consistent with policies and procedures governing the delivery of patient care by the Rehabilitation Department, State Licensure and Code of Ethics standards.

Education:
| Graduate of an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program

Experience:

License(s)/Certification(s):
| Current licensure in good standing to practice in the State of Iowa. Must possess and maintain current BLS certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire. Completion of four hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually | Membership in professional associations is desirable. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
| Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity Basic Computer skills Customer/patient focused. |
