The Cook is primarily responsible for preparation of entrees, vegetables, soups, cereals, sauces, fried items and other food serviced from the production area. Other responsibilities include proper handling and storage of all food and sanitation of work the work area. It is the goal to produce attractive, palatable, nutritious, and safe food to all our customers.
Wanted: This top quality hospitality minded associate with exceptional team initiative will work with Host/Hostess, patient room service operators, dietary staff, other culinary staff, and supervisors/managers to provide the best service for every patients every time. This individual must be highly self-motivated customer service focused with excellent culinary skills in a time sensitive work environment. Responsibilities of this “fast- paced” position includes overseeing the handling, preparation, and storage of food, assembly, delivery, and maintaining specifics with diet orders with patients, be able to understand special diets and use critical thinking skills. This customer service focused position will also use patient information to ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed for their specific diets. Our goal is to serve palatable, nutritious, attractive, and safe foods to our patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism, safety, and related criteria appropriate for the assigned area.
Experience: 1 year cooking or food service experience.
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Math Skills are required. Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., and stand for long periods of time.
